Handed in my 6th form application a few weeks ago... after getting a pathetic 33% in my chemistry paper in class it appears I need to 'up my game'! I really shouldn't be sitting at my mum's laptop (I'm too lazy to get on my own computer) or reading New Moon when I seriously need to revise, ah well! Also, tomorrow's FRIDAY so I won't be working then, oh dear. Busy at the weekend earning some money which I undoubtedly will spend on useless things opposed to Christmas or birthday presents! So basically, I'm going to have to get the grades in Chemistry, Biology, Physics and business studies; fun revision ahead!
On the bright side, this weekend my wonderful father's putting my lovely laminate flooring down so I should be back in there in a few weeks! Cannot wait for the Christmas holidays, not that I'm prepared! Check out his website: www.gregoryheath.co.uk
In the mean times I'll just play with my ADORABLE new kitten, Lennie! =D

Long time no speak.
I haven't blogged in ages!
My dad's been working on my room, filling in holes, tearing off skirting board... as you do. I have been sleeping in my brother's room and have made it my own (filled it with all my stuff, floor to ceiling!).
I have a great idea of how I want my room - so excited!

I have my GCSE results! I'm chuffed, mainly A*/A with just 2 Bs so my dad's going to treat me :) I'm considering something to decorate my room with so it will look beautiful but I have time to think, I'll update here! I'm also working on knitted bunting for my room, so far so good, there'll be pictures when it's ready!

Textiles
I'm going to my friend's house in about 2 hours, here's a link to her blog: http://barbiesonthebarbeque.blogspot.com/. We will be working on our textiles designs and also our dreaded art. I'm looking forward to going into town with her to pick up a pattern and material. Here are some of my developed designs, I'm going to judge my final design on what I find in town.
I don't even know what material I'm going to use so I'm just going to find a nice colour despite the material! :)
Redecorating 2...
My brother is back from University over the Summer so our house is packed. When he goes back (September 1st, I think) I'll be using his room as temporary accommodation. Whilst I'm in his room, we'll be hammering cracks out - they're a result of the extension, completely normal. We'll be painting, tearing up carpets etc. it should be great fun!
I have a beautiful bed which is resting in the store room, I'm itching to get it up and ready! It's an ivory white with brass knobs (hehe) on the headboard, I'm painting my room to match. I'm also getting my mum's dressing table to use for clothes storage - mine won't fit in my wardrobe and 2 drawers have broken out of my chest of drawers! I'm also hoping I can have a white laminate floor - the amount of threads and coffee stains on my current carpet isn't an attractive sight. Most of my family aren't up for that idea but I'll invest in a rug or something to keep me warm. If I can't find an affordable white laminate, I'll go for a dark wood which will contrast with my furniture, I just hope it will keep the vintage look I was aiming for!

I feel really uncommitted to this blog because I rarely post things on it. The truth is, I'm lazy so never really think about it.
It's my birthday in November so I'm going to get a new camera (my past 2 have broken!) to make vlogs for YouTube but don't get excited because the chances are that I won't get round to it haha!
If people encourage me I may be more likely to do it but I doubt they will soo...

Making
So, it's Summer which means REDECORATION! I'm going to paint my room white - boring, I know! Then I'm going to decorate it with hand made stuff such as cushions (inspiration from a really sweet store in Wales!), curtains, throws etc. I'll upload pictures if I ever get round to it!

:(!
I have work experience next week which means missing 3 hours of my textiles controlled assessment, I missed 2 hours today for a science exam, I missed one last week for another exam. Grand total of 6 hours of my controlled assessment just gone. :( I have a lot of catching up to do...

Clothes!
Summer's coming up, we all want new clothes! I'm hoping to make some over the summer.
Hopefully we're going to Greece so I'd love to wear some on the beach! :)
Textiles
From my original idea, Moroccan theme, I have decided not to make a dress. Simply because the techniques I want to use cannot be used on a dress like the one I had in my mind.
Therefore... I've decided to do a waistcoat. I want some 'burnt orange' material for it and I'm going to cover it in beads and create a ribbon using weaving. I'm also going to knit pockets onto it so I can show lots of different techniques. I've drawn out some designs which I'm really excited about!

Blog
I'm really getting into this Blog, hence why I've yet again changed it! To the right is a picture I drew and I thought it would add colour to my blog, but not too much that it's distracting. I hope you like it!
I've also used my signature at the top which is just 'Jodie Heath' but it does add a personal touch to it I think.

Geraldine
This is Geraldine!
As you can see, my room is a vile pink and blue combination (I liked it at the time) and I have a hideous blue carpet (which I NEVER liked and I still stand strong about the fact it isn't the one I chose, even though my parents insist it is). I'm decorating *yaaaay!* during the holidays. Only 3 weeks left before we go to Wales then 6 more weeks of total relaxation - plenty of time to test my textiles talent. It seems my English lessons have paid off, check out that alliteration!
ANYWAY, I'm painting my walls white - boring, I know, but this creates a blank canvas to fill my room with anything I like. I plan on making bunting to hang on a new bed (white, metal frame) and lots of cushions, curtains etc. all handmade. I'm aiming for a vintage-feel to it which it, where Geraldine would look perfect! The M&S catalouge is great inspiration so I'm constantly cutting and tearing out pages and making mental notes of everything I like.
In Melbourne there is a street full of new shops - French Decor, for example; HOW COOL?! I can't wait for them to open! Since Melbourne's a small town it's full of vintage-style shops and little shops with loads of handmade, kooky stuff. They're perfect for what I want and I really hope one day I will own a shop much like these. A bit irrelevant, but there's also a wedding shop with BEAUTIFUL dresses in it. If you're ever in Derbyshire, visit Melbourne - it's lovely!
New Blog Name!
I've just changed my blog from jodiedesigns to jodieheath. Firstly because it fits onto a label maker for my clothes (and accessories) - yay with excitement! Also partially because nobody reads this so using my name allows more people who know me to access this blog until it gets more viewers; assuming (and hoping) it will!

Patterns
I brought a pattern on Saturday and so did my mum so we should have some fun making them together! I doubt they'll be done any time soon but I'll update when they are. :)

Textiles!
I'm just about to finish my evaluation of my skirt (picture posted below) of my last project.
Then I want to work towards my planning of my controlled assessment and hopefully get a clear idea of what I'm going to make! In Bangles & Tat (Ashby) they have this GORGEOUS lace and beaded cordy stuff which I think would look amazing on it. I just hope it actually looks as good as it does in my head; fingers crossed!

Photo!
My Blog
I'm new to this site, however my basic design is inspired by a design for a Moroccan themed dress I intend to make. Photos may be uploaded if I ever learn how. =]
WELCOME
Me and my friend, Emma, have taken Textiles and are rapidly working towards a GCSE! We decided to start blogging after a genius idea of a photoshoot in our textiles work. Photos etc. will be uploaded as we take them and hopefully this blog will become somewhat amazing.
